YREKA, Siskiyou County — November 5, 2026. Yreka voters were selecting three City Council representatives on November 3. The latest county report places Colleen Baker with 1,069 candidate votes, Rhetta Hogan with 931 and Jason K. Williams with 925. Ian Davis follows at 872, creating a 53-vote third-to-fourth margin.

RELATED UPDATE — NOVEMBER 6. Yreka’s Measure G hotel-tax vote had 943 Yes and 710 No in Siskiyou County’s early November 3 report. The hotel tax is a separate question from the three-seat City Council election discussed below; voters may make different choices in each contest. Both are uncertified.

The full reported field

The county’s early count also lists Ben Villegas with 549 candidate selections and Francisco Gomez with 190. In a vote-for-three election, the sum across all six candidates counts selections rather than unique voters. The top three currently hold the leading positions, but the final canvass may move individual totals.

Why 53 votes still matter

County election officials continue accepting and processing ballots that meet California’s deadline and verification requirements. Without knowing how many uncounted Yreka council ballots are eligible, editors should not declare that a 53-vote margin is beyond reach. The current total is a time-stamped provisional report.

Measure G is a different question

Yreka voters also considered local Measure G, reported at 1,128 Yes and 836 No votes in the same county report. That was an early numerical Yes majority on a separate ballot question. The city council contest and a local tax or governance measure have different vote totals and different legal effects.

Where to follow updates

Yreka residents can check the county election office and the city council’s public agendas for developments after the vote. A new elected council member’s role in budget, public safety or planning decisions cannot be inferred from which candidate finished first in a single election-night release.

Source, date and certification

The figures derive from Siskiyou News’s Nov. 5 analysis of the county’s election summary Update #3, which records a reporting timestamp of November 4, 2026 at 3:03 p.m. Pacific. Voters can follow the Siskiyou County Clerk’s official election results for later canvass releases. Eligible additional ballots may change the totals. County official results are due by December 3 and statewide certification by December 11. The figures above are preliminary, not certified.
